Established in 1893, Coonara Springs is one of the oldest restaurants in the Dandenong Ranges, and offers an elegant and unique dining experience.
Beautifully positioned amongst seven acres with views across the the Yarra Valley, Coonara Springs has recently undergone and extensive refurbishment program to restore and share its rich history.
A grand victorian weatherboard property, features include open fireplaces, chandeliers, original antique furniture and Edna Walling themed gardens. Old menus from the past hang on the walls, portraits of former owners and the dishes on the menu from the original Aga stove which has been restored and is featured in the open kitchen.
The restaurant floor is an intimate space with leather banquets to one side, and tables overlooking the gardens and Yarra Valley. Our food is a set two or three course menu featuring contemporary Australian Cusine with a country style flavour, with a hint of nostalgia... Aga roasted lamb, Slow cook beef cheek, Southern Ocean Snapper, Roasted Beetroot with black Savourine... to finish...Apple taste satin, rhubarb with liquorice mousse, panacotta..
The menu is seasonal and is influenced by what is available from the vegetable garden..
