The iconic Piggery Cafe, Burnham Beeches is part of Melbourne’s Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges / Visit Victoria ‘Wander Victoria’ campaign.

The Piggery Cafe is a warm and rustic Art Moderne mansion and estate in Melbourne’s Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges. Housed in a restored piggery and stables at Burnham Beeches, the Piggery serves sophisticated comfort food with a sustainability slant. Produce is carefully sourced: free-range pork, line-caught seafood, Five Senses Coffee and veggies from the estate garden. Delicious!

Serving up breakfast (eggs, bacon and all the trimmings), lunch (lobster rolls, cheese and charcuterie plates) and afternoon tea (with Prosecco) every day, plus dinner on Friday nights there’s many ways you can enjoy this space. Take a seat outside and immerse yourself in the views of the 23-hectare estate while you decide if you’ll choose between bocce, croquet or lawn bowls. Check out the 500-tree truffiere, emu enclosure (for eggs) or watch the pigs enjoy themselves in their suitably muddy patch. The kid's playground is exciting, interactive and sits in the shade of enormous elms. Also take some time to wander around the stunning Alfred Nicholas Gardens which can be found next door which was once a part of the estate. Home also to the popular Burnham Bakery, Burnham Beeches is also slated to become Australia’s first 6-star luxury retreat.

With such iconic building features, and a sophisticated style of producing food, the Piggery Cafe, Burnham Beeches proves to be the perfect icon in the Dandenong Ranges for Visit Victoria’s ‘Wander Victoria’ campaign. The campaign carries on from the original film of two couples enjoying lunch at a winery, where the men decide to walk home embarking on a journey that covers all eleven of Victoria’s regions within a single day. As the two comical characters wander through Victoria, so does their conversation. It represents slowing down and having a different type of travel experience - one where you take the time to connect, rather than trying to cram as much in as possible - you Wander Victoria. Yarra Ranges Tourism is proud to be working with Visit Victoria on this fabulous campaign.
